How does each social networks regulate how employees use their platform?

Social networks are on the forefront of freedom of speech, but employees have contracts to represent the interest of the social network. How effectively employees market the social network can be essential to its growth. Plus, employees also have rare insights into how the platform functions, and that information could be used to build related products, invest in an insider trend, or at the very least, greatly impact the impressions upon content of interest. What rules and guidelines do companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Quora, LinkedIn & Medium instill on employees for using the social network that employs them?
